Welcome to Bellingham Firefighters Pipes & Drums Web-site. We are a fire service pipe band made up of professional firefighters from the city of Bellingham and surrounding Whatcom County fire departments. BFFP&D is a firefighter owned and operated pipe band.
BFFPD was formed with the intention of honoring the rich history and traditions of the fire service, and increasing the camaraderie of Whatcom County firefighters.

Patrick Downing

Patrick has over ten years of experience, and actively competes in solo competition at the professional level. Patrick has played with the world champion Simon Fraser University Pipe Band of Burnaby, BC.  He played with SFU the 2008-9 seasons, where they consecutively won two of their six world titles. Like Griffith, Patrick began instructing the BFD February 2009, and looks forward to their progress ahead. Griffith Gustafson

Griff has been playing since the age of thirteen and is one of the top solo amateur competitors of the British Columbia Piper's Association. He is a member of the SFU Pipe Band Organization along with the New Westminster Police Pipe Band, who took 6th at the World Pipe Band Championships. Like Patrick, he is available for lessons, celebrations, and all other functions.
